SANTA CRUZ (June 2010) - Ask where all the money is coming from to pay for all the Robo calls, TV and radio spots. What favors will have to be paid back to the special interest groups and union supporters?
Vote for the person not the party!
Are you tired of re-electing the same people year after year and getting the same results?  My name is Jim Fitzgerald and I am running for State Senate.  I am an Independent candidate – not a career politician.  I will not accept any large donations from special interest groups, corporations, or individuals.  I will never sell out on an issue, or trade a vote for a party favor or a campaign donation.
What I will do is pledge to work on those issues specific to my constituents: the individuals, families and seniors of California’s Central Coast.  Aren’t you sick of all the questions that don’t produce any answers?  Isn’t it time we brought some of those to the table? More and more businesses are leaving California for other states and the legislature cannot create private sector jobs. What we can do is vote against any tax increase on California small businesses and work to ensure that regulations encourage small business growth instead of stopping it in its tracks!
Are you fed up with the rampant fiscal irresponsibility, not to mention billions lost in revenue across our state? Let’s demand a balanced budget! Let’s assign real accountability with a comprehensive fiscal and performance audit that ferrets out mismanagement and the waste it produces.
If you believe that every child is entitled to a quality public education, then why for the first time in California history is our state government spending more money on prisons than higher education?  What sort of a future is that going to provide for our children?
We are facing a fresh water shortage and yet our district spans one third of the California coastline!  Why aren’t we building desalination plants in the 15th district?
We’ve all listened to the experts warning us about the fiscal and environmental impacts of offshore drilling.  I will continue to take a strong stance against offshore drilling.  And to help balance the budget I believe that oil companies drilling in California should be made to pay their fair share of oil taxes by creating an extraction fee.
It’s up to us to be the ones who make a positive and lasting change.  Put me to work on the problems by electing me to be your public servant. I’ll get the job done. To learn more about my candidacy please visit my website now at www.fitzgerald4senator.com
